Contract aware automation
Contracts dictate what products or services are produced and provided. If the exchange of contract data becomes more accessible, while still remaining secure and fulfilling necessary legal requirements, we have a basis for automating more elements of the supply chain.
In the latest installment on the Eclipse Arrowhead Youtube channel, Emanuel Palm (LTU) explains how block chain technology can be used to drive automation and create more efficient supply chains. Distributed ledger technology can provide the basis for peer-to-peer networks where industrial stakeholders sign and send digital offers, acceptances and rejections and, importantly, where acceptances become immutable and non-repudiable – meaning that they can be used as evidence in arbitration or in legal disputes.
The presentation includes a use case demonstrating how the Eclipse Arrowhead ContractProxy can support M2M autonomous transactions between two manufacturers and a carrier.
