Lindbäcks participate in project to reduce lead times
A regional publication covering trade and industry in Swedish Lapland recently featured Eclipse Arrowhead partner Lindbäcks Construction. This is a translation of the article. A link to the original publication can be found at the end of the article.
The aim of the project is to create more flexible systems, reduce project lead times and reduce production costs with the help of digitalisation and automation.
“Arrowhead Tools gives us an opportunity to test digital solutions and make use of local competence and resources, which will be important for us in the future. It is a very attractive opportunity for us,” says Lars Oscarsson, project leader at Lindbäcks Construction.
It is a three year project that includes 21 universities and research institutes together with 53 companies from the automotive industry as well as mining and construction.
“The aim of the project is to significantly reduce engineering costs for automation and digital solutions, the goal is a 20-50 percent reduction in costs,” explains Jerker Delsing, Professor of Cyber-Physical Systems at Luleå University of Technology who is also co-ordinator for the Eclipse arrowhead project.
The Eclipse Arrowhead project has a budget of 950 million SEK and is financed by project stakeholders, the European Union and participating countries.
