Simplicity, interoperability and ease of integration are key components of the Eclipse Arrowhead approach and the adaptor package is yet another example of this. Presented through a command line interface, the adaptor package requires no programming. The user simply types in the commands, which are then translated by the application into the necessary service calls.

Entering the location of the keeper, certificate and end point of the onboarding service, allows authentication of the client to the Eclipse Arrowhead local cloud. Issuing a registered device command allows the adaptor to initiate the onboarding procedure. A certificate signing request will be sent to the onboarding controller and a registration request to the service registry. During the onboarding procedure the client application acquires the necessary device and system certificates from the core systems. The “show devices” command provides a list of all registered devices and once you have a valid registration you request the registration of your provided services as well as orchestration from the Eclipse Arrowhead local cloud.
