Sustainability is more important now than ever before. Results at Bosch demonstrate that intelligent management of energy use in industrial processes can have a significant impact on both the environment and production efficiency. The development is focused on creating interfaces between production systems and facility management systems.

At the Bosch plant in Reutlingen, a new level of production process transparency has been achieved by gathering process data during the production of Micro-Electrical Mechanical Systems (MEMS). Linking yield and traceability information allows unexpected deviations to be identified and relevant process parameters to be quickly adapted. The result is more efficient production and reduced production costs making Bosch an even more competitive European semiconductor manufacturer on the global market.

IOT gateways and cloud solutions link online energy consumption and equipment data which allow for reduced energy costs in production through intelligently controlled energy requirements. Successful results can be transferred to other Bosch plants in Europe and Asia, reducing overall environmental impact.
